What is PAS 2080 and Why Does It Matter for Infrastructure?

PAS 2080 is the internationally recognised standard for managing carbon in infrastructure. Published by the British Standards Institution, it provides a common language and framework for infrastructure owners, designers, and contractors to collaborate on reducing whole life carbon.

The standard applies across the full asset lifecycle — from design and construction through to operation and end of life. It sets out roles and responsibilities for different stakeholders and encourages a value-based approach to carbon reduction that goes beyond simply offsetting.

At Transpoint, we help organisations understand what PAS 2080 means for their projects, develop implementation plans, and build the internal capability needed to embed whole life carbon thinking into everyday decision making.
